I would suspect that a lot of my readers watch Coaches Corner on Hockey Night in Canada. I thought I would quote Ron Maclean from tonights episode (Leafs ahead 3-1 against Montreal!)

Ron was reffering to Don's comments about how we should go back to "old school" shoulder pads so we have less injuries.

Ron said: "If we don't turn back time we are going to get our clocks cleaned."

Good reminder in more ways than one.

Here is a little video from a couple weeks back (who's kidding who?...they are all good!)

I don't remember ever feeling so in between things in my musical life. I am working on tour dates for the spring and summer and have almost nothing going on in the current. Sometimes this is the way things go and have to go.

Last night I had one of the most inspired practising sessions in my basement, alone with my strat, thumb and finger picks, jamming with Junior Brown (the freakazoid country singer and guitarist). I really don't know how my interest and abilities in this style have anything to do with anything other than the fun I was having.

I am so happy when I can bring back the feeling of being a kid in a rock band. Ecstatic...for sure. The banjo, the picks...bluegrass...country...not sure.

I am sure that I am excited about playing hockey this morning...hurray! I wish I had a maple leaf player I could pretend to be this morning but all of them looked horrible last night. Hopefully that is just a phase.

I am sad to admit that this morning I attended what was my first rally ever. No joke. Things I observed in my youth (ie. my Dad was always on the management side in strikes) and things I have read from intellectuals (even Frank Zappa) who downplay the importance of protests have kept me away.

Boycotting the Island airport that started up again today was an educational, informational and uplifting experience. Apparently my councillor who we support, Joe Pantalone is a supporter of the airport. I will drop by his office this week to talk to him...I find it disappointing and confusing from the "tree advocate."

I met future counicillor Adam Vaughan...very appproachable friendly intetlligent person as well as hanging out with Olivia Chow which brought extra enthusiasm and credibility to the protest.

You can download a poster for tonigh't rally here. It starts at the foot of Bathurst st. at 4pm. You won't believe how close the buildings and schools are to where the planes land and take off from! (crazy)

I really regret not having my camera...I am going to carry it everywhere from now on. Not only would I have made a good short film for youtube about the protest but I missed an incrediblly weird sight on my bikeride home; four old people doing tai chi with real swords right in the the playground my kids play at between the slides and swings.

Never dull here in Toronto!

While I try to maintain an artistic/creative life...well...who's kidding who...we live in hockeyville here. Although, I was unable to watch the Leafs on TV this weekend I managed to take my son to hockey yesterday and today and I am home to eat dinner and return to the rink to play some hockey myself! (we managed to sneak in some pretty good road hockey with the kids today too)

I haven't had a lot of feeback on the latest video....any thoughts?...Perhaps I should stick to music? (and hockey)

You can watch it on you tube
here. It is no Wim Wenders but I am pretty proud of what I made with a still digital camera and the cheap program called imovie that comes with the new Macs.

I remain,
