Les Blancs Brilliants!
DAVE CLARK - DANIEL OORE - SAGEEV OORE
Les Blancs Brilliants share a skill and passion for music in the moment. This trio is brand spanking new, but is founded on some old relationships, so is the music: first breath out of the womb, but worn like a glove. The trio members’ backgrounds in rock, jazz, avante garde and classical traditions, have lead them to form close, daring and fruitful collaborations with such leaders as Jerry Granelli, Gord Downie, and Fides Krucker. Les Blancs Brilliants have been featured soloists in the orchestras of Fred Frith, Sam Rivers, and Georg Tintner; and regularly conduct and compose for the Upstream and Woodchoppers orchestras. The Oore brothers and Mr. Clark have collectively appeared on over forty-five cds, performed on national and international radio, television and web broadcasts, made the subject of a film, and are critically acclaimed for their artistic efforts. They have collaborated with dancers Andrea Nann, Yvonne Ng and Sara Shelton Mann/Contraband, jammed with the Sun Ra Arkestra and published research with neural-networks expert Geoffrey Hinton and graphics guru Demetri Terzopoulos. Now the Oore’s and Clark come together, in a mass of white fire.

The sloppy joe saga

I had a craving or an urge to make sloppy joes for my kids today. I called friends for recipies and
search our shelves as well but no luck. So I improvised; a little ground chicken, some tomatoes, garlic
toasted buns under the grill...I was very excited and was hoping my Mom was watching me from above!!

Ok, I confess, they werent very good.

Talked to my sister later the same evening and she cleared the air by telling me that Mom's recipie
was to go to the grocery store and get the Sloppy Joe Mix. Next time.

It is amazing how silly one can feel when taking their life/art/work so seriously and then...one of your
kids gets sick. (Nothing worse than seeing your little baby get sick) I think these times are provided
to remind us that we wont live forever and that we should never take our family or friends for granted.

They are definitely the most important things in life.

I decided to write brieflye BEFORE going out to play shinny today so as to not have my usual
rant about how great hockey is after the game.

I wanted to tell people, as I have been known to do about this great book I am reading; the Jim Jarmusch
Interviews.

It is about twenty five interviews between l985 and now. He is such an interestng guy and a true
independent. (although he claim the underground scene is dead) Everything he says seems to relate
to things that I think about. I suppose it is that self obsessed, art making thing...

btw thanks to Bill Parsons for telling me about this book. I am starting to rent his films again but
cant find the time to watch them....oh well, hopefully life is not too short.

More about Jim later,

tim
