Today my son, 4.5 years old told me "all people have a smell, and you stink DAddy" What!!??

I said is it my body or my breath? (I have to admit when I am lost in the stay at home blur of parenting
composing, and just hanging out without doing any gigs or even socializing....I do get a little stinky, unkempt,
call it what you wi)

Anyways, he said its my breath. I tried to explain that I drink a lot of coffee....I guess my face is in his
face a lot too. More than almost anyone else right? I guess I have to brush a little more often.

Hopefully he will learn his own lesson he was teaching me; all people have a smell....Daddy.

aT what point did phones become standard gear in Canada? I wonder just how many folks even check
their email. Will they ever? What about the social graces of email? Isnt the beauty of it that you can reply
instantly. I spent hours last night inviting folks to my Cd launch next week and had but a few replies.

I was looking forward to the full inbox even just for getting in touch with some friends etc. Whats up!!??

Will email be our phones soon, will I get over this...ever...is anyone coming to my party? I hope it isnt still
minus 50 in Toronto next Thursday.

I have been writing some letters of recommendation for some friends to go to the Banff School of the Arts.
Got me thinking about how great it is there. I even try to book a day off on tours there if possible. The
library is so great. Ok, I confess, I miss the whirlpool looking out at the mountains.

We were discussing the centre the other night at a party and a composer, player friend said it was a little
too much for him. I thought that was interesting. He said, his art was about his day to day life and that
included making your own supper, shoveling the walk etc.

I know what he meant but I wouldnt mind beaming into Banff for a few days.

heh keep your eyes on the website should be changing a bit over the next few days!

Wow, I am so happy....my fave blog is back. Maybe it was just me but I couldnt access it for months (or so it seems)

http://ergjazz.blogspot.com/

How can you not read "a fireside chat with the Art Ensemble of Chicago"....much cheaper than buying those
crazy jazz magazines...plus I never have to go outside (except Fridays for Hockey!)

Yah ERG!

Another person who has helped me out a lot in the last year is my friend Metagrafix. Yes, she is fun, creative
works cheap for artists and I couldnt have done so much that I accomplished this last year without her.

Plus, have you seen my new CD (true...not really released until January 29) It looks great. She did it!

She lives in my neighbourhood (college and shaw) and can be reached at meta@metagrafixdesign.com

p.s. She does web stuff too!

Tonight is the debut of the new CBC radio one spoken word show at 830pm. Hosted by Lilian Allen. Should be great! She is very cool. Great artist with great energy. I will have to tape it....oh thank the technology gods
for cassettes!! haha...who says they are dead?

I remember George Mitchell (great bassist, now in NY) saying "beware of using up your creative energy
We were talking about exercise, physical exertion etc. and creativity.

I know a day like today is tricky as I will go over to the outdoor rink to play some hockey at noon but I know
I have writing to do. This means it will have to wait for late evening (maybe get a bit done now) so that
I can have my energy back. Seems to take four or five hours to come back.

I wonder if others would agree?
