a fun night of music put together by my pal rob clutton that climaxed with a third set featuring Paul, Lina Allemano, Christine Duncan and Joe Sorbara. It was improv with a subtle yet continuous connection to jazz tradition. The three melodic instruments found such interesting ways to play with and against each other. It left things wide open for Joe to lay down some subtle and interesting textures for the other three to sit on.

Fun!!

Oh yah, we went to a good bar on Spadina called the Red Room. Good time, good food, good news.

I am really procrastinating, blogging while I have two unfinished grant applications that are due tommorrow. I was just listening to my last cd (in the future of your dream) and it was a lot of fun as it has been a while.

I want to make a greatest hits Cdr for friends sometime soon and I think the cuts from this one that would make it are: First Word, Osmosis and Don't Ask Me.

If you want to check it out you can hear it and buy it at www.guildwoodrecords.com

back to work. (by the way, that cool sculpture you see is the cover of the Cd and it was created by Kim Adams)

My pal Randall just emailed me this link and i have to share it. Very cool. It is a spot where you can see some great short videos of improv musicians at work. I only checked out two so far but loved them both; one was Derek Bailey solo and the other was Misha Mengelber, Han Bennink and more. click here!!!
