Heh, looks like parts of Canada might get to hear Howard Johnson this summer after all. I won't spill the details yet but some of you wise jazz festival presenters are making it happen!

did you know you can hear a couple cuts from our upcoming disc details at our website.

Hopefully some of the tour details will follow as they are confirmed and the European tour for July is in the works too. yee haa!!

I was just thinking about friends and how fortunate I am to have such good friends. I happen to have spent a few hours each in the last twelve hour with two good friends that are so great. They are great friends as they are wonderful listeners, inspiring in their day to day lives, jobs etc. funny, hmmm what else makes a good friend (open can of worms here...hahah) Anyways, I am so glad to be hanging, seems like the time of year to do more and more of that. so much more fun than working too...oops...lots to do. Must get back to it. thanks for reading.

maybe photos on the blog are overrated...dunno. I often claim to just sit down and write whatever is on my mind...I have changed a bit that way. sometimes I blog in my head and save for later...for instance I was going to write about how much fun I had toboganning with the boys yesterday. (gotta use that Toronto snow while it is here)

this morning, while Leo still sleeps (not sure what's up with that) I am listening to some Jazzstory concerts. Trying to find some good tracks for a grant application. It is so weird thinking about making a record with that band (down the road) when most of my time, money and energy is going into the Hornband. But, that is the nature of what I do. If I don't have something else going on, there will be a big open spot in my calendar when this summer finishes. (see, there I go talking about summer like it is around the corner)

I am really rambling today. Now I am listening to Paul Bley, Gary Peacock and Paul Motion. Recent record, forget the title. I would really like to bring the spirit of improvised music to songs with the next Jazzstory disc. It seems like the natural evolution of what we have been doing since the last one.

I think I am done.
