this is what i cant rap my head around today; just now, after saturday morning cartoons, i was making a film with my five year old...his direction. we were using imovie. very cool program.

I am trying to figure out how it all relates to creativity, youth, inside vs. outside play, technology, commerce...it is such a weird concept...within one hour we recorded a theme for the movie, grabbed some images from the net and messed around.

I guess the other topic is ownership but who cares, it is not for sale so....

Listening to these two francophones talking about culture this morning on the cbc reminds me how much I love that province.

It was exciting to hear them read and refer to poet gaston miron. I have been meaning to check him out for a long time. there is so much passion in quebec. it is inspiring. I am lucky i get to visit so often. hope to book gigs there again soon too.

fun to see some friends at the distillery fest last night. wow, did brodie ever sound good in reg's new group. I think the best thing i saw was the beautiful solo piano of Mark Eiserman. boy he's good!

does anyone else have this mult-calendar problem?

i have four calendars on the go, none really connected, none really accurate and not sure how to integrate...I always do this. when I have a little problem like this...I think about it forever, do nothing and then move on.

I am listening to the Roots. I love these guys, great production. Looking forward to their new one this summer.

it was a busy week, all those poetry gigs and the usual day to day stuff....wow, I am glad I learned to type without looking at the keys as I am really watching hockey as I type. Go Flames!!!

anyways, nice to have a little time at home, time to think, enjoy the kids, the summer weather (please come back) amd the hockey playoffs.

It is great to have time to reflect on what has passed and what is in the future. I always need a certain amount of time for this.

I look forward to hearing the recordings of all the gigs I did with Peter McPhee last week and assesing the future or the potential of this live electronics stuff I have been exploring.

I have been anxious to post. not sure why. maybe a little hesitant with the electrical storm. Loving Bill Evans and Mark Johnson on vinyl. even the scratches are so beautiful. perhaps that is because I have been doing a little improvising with ambient scratching noises etc.

great to get some beautiful music like this on the stereo. wow. makes me want to practise! (cant be a bad thing)

I went out of town for 24 hours and hurt my damn arms. Hope they are better tommorrow. It is that old funny thing about helping someone in need with a big lift. a friends dock washed too high onshore and we lifted it back into the water. way too heavy. why do i do it? Makes one so happy to help friends. but....I have to remember. I cant take chances like that. all it would take would be one serious injury and ....no more guitar for me.

sure, some would say there is not a lot at stake (haha) but, I think there is.

I have gotten better with wearing gloves when lifting etc. but, need to take it one step further. Not easy.
