Great article in today's Toronto Star on Rob Clutton. Nice of Geoff Chapman to give a shout out to that part of the jazz
community. There was a nice summation at the end of venues, radio etc. in the Toronto area for this sort of music.

Yahhh Geoff!!

Funny, today I failed a phone solicitor's survey. I said, how long will the survey be? She said; depends on your answers.
(It was about radio) She said; How old are you? I said; 36. She said; Thank you for your time. goodbye.

What does that say about the state of radio?

Really fun gig last night. Performing duo with poet Peter McPhee. After about eight years or more of working together
we are really comfortable (in the best sense of the word) on stage together. I look forward to continuing to develop our duo
thing. Enthusiastic and friendly community vibe at the monthly
reading at the Pilot. Lots of familiar faces and friends. Met some interesting people and heard some great work by other
poets too. Watch for it every month; the Lexiconjury (third tuesday in the month!)

I got the new Dapp Theory Cd on Concord Records. Very exciting hearing my friend Andy Milne's latest effort.
Well recorded, exciting music from a real band! Bruce Cockburn is a special guest and it is so cool (that's
the only way I can describe it) hearing him sing before or after Kokai the rapper on the Disc.

Check it out!! www.dapptheory.com

I am realising more these days how my spiritual fulfillment comes from my family life as well as my music.
Having both is a very fortunate situation. It is amazing how one fills in holes that the other leaves or one
strengthens and clarifies the other. The amazing feeling of hearing one of my groups play a composition for
the first time is so similar in some ways to wrestling on the bed with my older son or making our new baby
laugh.
I think I understand artists (more so now) who have religious inclinations, or people who fight for certain causes with or
in addtion to the art that they make. It is about a fulfilling experience with our time on earth.
