Here is an interesting gig that I do once a year. It is always fun and interesting to work with storytellers as well as my favourite musical friends Lina Allemano and Rob Clutton.

This year our hearts and our minds will be with the memory of our friend the great story teller Helen Porter who started and ran this event (and was the headliner too!) each year as she passed away recently.

The three stories are all fantastic tales of travel and Rob Lina and I (Being Helen) will perform some instrumental music at the beginning of the second set.

Travel Tales and Jazz

Monday, March 31st, 2008 @ 8pm
At the Lula Lounge

Carrying on Helen Porter’s inspiration of storytelling
and improvised jazz.
Storytellers Mariella Bertelli, Jim Blake,
Rico Rodriguez tell stories of travel,
journeys and discovery while
musicians/composers Lina Allemano
(Trumpet), Rob Clutton (Bass) and Tim
Posgate (Guitar and Banjo) create jazz
soundscapes for each story. Actor/Artist Randi
Helmers paints works in response to each telling.
