It occurs to me that some people (hi Dad!) really like advance notice on gigs etc. I thought I would let you know about some really interesting gigs I have coming up in Toronto. The details will follow but this is just the early warning:

Electric fiddle player Jaron-Freeman Fox and I have a new duo called FREAK FLAG! (I play electric guitar) We are making our world debut at a benefit for Clay and Paper Theatre on April 18 at the Annex Theatre on Brunswick ave.

I have been writing music for a string quintet that I lead (and play banjo in) called Sorry Cousins. We are playing a fun double bill with the Roofhoppers at the Freetimes Cafe. Great spot to eat drink and hear music. This will be May 26, 9pm. (one long set!)

Also, Sorry Cousins has been invited to perform a Bluegrass "Mass" with the Eastminister United Church choir on May 8, 7pm. this is right at the Chester subway stop on the Danforth. (if you are really into long term planning this show will be re-staged in Vaughan at the Vaughan playhouse on October 15)

If this wasn't enough fun already; Monday June 13 the Tim Posgate Horn Trio (w/ Lina Allemano and Quinsin Nachoff) will be playing a gig my neighbourhood pub The Emmet Ray. We will be playing all the Hornband hits and there will hopefully be some special guests.

Stay tuned here (or Facebook if you do that kinda thing) for more details.
