Why do I play music? Because I love listening to music.

Sounds simple but I think it really is one of the answers. I am reminded of this as I think about my upcoming gig
with Vancouver guitarist Tony Wilson (Sept 8, Rex HOtel) and all the great shows I hope to see this Saturday
at the Guelph Jazz Festival. It should be a fun gig as we are performing a lot of Ornette Coleman's music
and the rhythm section is Rob Clutton and Ted Warren. (oddly enough, our last session was with two guitar
players when David Occhipinti and I made a demo ten years ago!)

Anyways, if all goes well, I plan to see Steve Lacy play solo Saturday morning (thank you Ron Gaskin!) and then Peggy Lee's
band (featuring Tony Wilson) is playing Saturday afternoon and then that same evening Steve Lacy's group
is doing a concert!

Why do I play music? Because I love listening to music.
